As we head to the close of the year, we have much to celebrate and much to work toward in our continued support of Energy Institute High School (EIHS)!
We celebrate the generosity of our 2024 donors, who have:
Sent 120+ freshman students to overnight Bridge Camp
Fully funded EIHS’ expanding VEX and FRC Robotics teams
Provided a working budget for all 40 of the senior engineering capstone project groups
Directly sponsored more than half of EIHS’ teaching teams
In the upcoming year, we want to make sure that we are able to continue meeting the school’s evolving needs. We rely on unrestricted general donations in order to:
Meet the gaps in teacher sponsorship not covered by current grants from our corporate donors
In 2025, Friends of Energy will launch Teacher Mini-Grants for the math, elective, and freshman cohort teachers
Subsidize school-wide digital licenses to further innovative learning for all of EIHS’ students
Provide stipends for the additional teacher planning and training that makes Project-Based Learning possible
Address the unique needs that may arise as EIHS navigates HISD changing budget
Like many schools in HISD, Energy Institute underwent extensive and unanticipated budget cuts between the 23-24 and 24-25 school year
Host our annual Catalyst Conference to help inspire EIHS’ educators and give our Friends an opportunity to demonstrate the connection between the school’s curriculum and current projects in the energy industry
Maintain the small operational costs that allow us to continue inviting Houston’s robust energy community into partnership with Energy Institute through Friends of Energy
